I’m Coach Sam, bringing four years of coaching experience and a strong leadership background from my 22 years in the Army. I’m excited to help Ravens athletes grow in skill, confidence, and character.

All About Coach Sam

Coach Sam brings four years of volleyball coaching experience to the court, with experience at both the recreational and club levels. He served as the 14U All-Star Coach for Liberty County Recreation in 2023 and 2024 and has coached with Ahnix Ravens Volleyball Club since August 2024. In addition to coaching youth athletes, Coach Sam stays active in the sport by playing in an adult summer volleyball league in Bryan County.

Coach Sam has developed valuable competitive experience through participation in four USA Volleyball (USAV) tournaments and three Junior Volleyball Association (JVA) tournaments. His approach to coaching is also shaped by a 22-year career in the U.S. Army, where he developed extensive experience in leadership, team building, mentorship, accountability, and developing personnel to reach their full potential.

He is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Organizational Management, further strengthening his background in leadership and management. His coaching philosophy emphasizes strong fundamentals, effective communication, discipline, teamwork, and helping athletes develop confidence both on and off the court.

Outside of volleyball, Coach Sam enjoys spending time with his family and being outdoors. He is passionate about using volleyball as a platform to help young athletes develop not only their athletic abilities, but also confidence, character, leadership, teamwork, and life skills.
